About Us
FIDEI began with the creation of a trust fund aimed at the inclusive agricultural development of Paraguay, promoted by important companies in the sector and non-profit organizations, with the objective of supporting small producers and neighboring communities in the generation of shared value: social, economic and environmental.
As an autonomous patrimony, FIDEI complies with the provisions of Law 921/96 on Fiduciary Businesses, integrating four companies that united common objectives: Syngenta, Desarrollo Agrícola del Paraguay (DAP), Paraguay Agricultural Corporation (Payco S.A.) and Cofco International Paraguay S.A.; and two non-profit organizations: Fundación Solidaridad Internacional and Fundación Moisés Bertoni.
FIDEI is implemented on the basis of a transparent and sustainable model that integrates a revolving fund and a social fund in each productive project.
The revolving fund is reimbursable and finances production activities, and the social fund, which is non-reimbursable, provides producers with training opportunities, infrastructure improvements and activities for the development of their communities. It is the reimbursable component that guarantees the maintenance of its capacity and impact in the long term.
On August 25, 2014, with the approval and signing of FIDEI’s bylaws, activities for the identification, formulation, evaluation and accompaniment of projects began.
